Hey, I’m Bryan from Jake’s Old West Properties. I have been in the real estate for 18 years, most of it in off grid 40 acre properties. That was my focus when I first became licensed in real estate. It was my passion for the outdoor and pioneer lifestyle that put me in this business.

We sell a variety of real estate, but my expertise lies in acreage in the backcountry, off grid, self-sufficient type property.

For the past 17 years, I worked from my home in Phoenix, commuted 2 hours in Northern Arizona to show and sell properties, acquired a 48-acre parcel for myself to stay on while working up here, and slowly developed it for self-sufficiency living. About 2 years ago, I was offered a position where I am currently employed, but I had to relocate up here full time to the small town of Ash Fork, population 400 people, on I-40 and old route 66. I then moved onto my 48 acre retreat full time, using solar, hauled water, a greenhouse, etc. until just recently when I bought a 2 and a half acre only 4 miles from town, with a small home, as my 48 acre was remote, had to climb a mountain every day, to and from work, up almost 1000 feet in elevation, and in bad weather could not get home or to work sometimes. (40-minute drive in good weather)

I am still somewhat pioneer living, I do have electricity, but on hauled water, propane, septic tank, a home in the country, you might call it.

We sell a variety of real estate, but my expertise lies in acreage in the backcountry, off-grid, self-sufficient type property.

Over the years, I have sold many survival type properties to the prepper crowd, mostly 40 acres and up, one in particular had underground shipping containers, with air filtration, large garden, rain harvesting set up, etc. Most properties are mainly on solar/wind power, have rain collection, gardens and green houses, and just about everyone up here has chickens, as I do, and many have livestock, such as cattle, goats, and the like.

Our clientele is from all walks of life, all parts of the country, and many overseas. We are a mild 4 season climate at a mile high, light snow in winters, cool summers, and best of all, small towns around us, with the country “help your neighbor” attitude.

The back country has a lot to offer.

There are quite a bit of retirees here, surprisingly, but mainly attribute that to a lower cost of living.

We are a small company, in business since 1995, but high volume. Our staff consists of the owners, Jake and Linda, and myself. Last year we sold 147 properties.

We try to keep properties affordable, for the “do it yourselfer” and always are available to help “newbies” with questions.

Here are a few pictures of some of our properties, all off grid, to just show a few of many. Enjoy!
