Hey Y’all! I’m Riley E. Carlson, your homesteader in chief. I want this to be a space where anyone at any level can come in, learn and grow. If I can do it, why can’t you?
I’ve been running my very own self-sufficient homestead for several years now. I grew up in the ‘burbs, but fate led me to the country, where I now live on a small plot of land raising my own chickens and goats, and growing all the food I need. Of course, there’s the occasional trips to the farmers market, and the fair trade amongst neighbors for homegrown meat, dairy, and cups of flour too. But all these experiences led me to one sound solution: I like homesteading. And now here I am sharing my passion with you.
Homesteading is a place for information and ideas to be shared about homesteading, craftsmanship, and sustainability. We strive to help people of all experience levels take steps towards happier, healthier, and more holistic lives with a natural and thoughtful approach to a safer and more effective way of living. Whether on or off the homestead, we believe in making and growing, harvesting and raising, creating, and doing. Getting back to our roots, one blog at a time.
