- Candle wick with tab, medium

Step 1: Cut the Lavender Stems

Cut several stems of the lavender flower the same height as the mason jar.
Step 2: Melt First Batch of Candle Wax
Using a double broiler, melt a portion of the candle wax by submerging the container in boiling water. Stir it with a spoon or chopsticks. The first batch will be used to hold the stems and wick in place.
When the wax is fully melted, you will see that it will melt to only around half of its size in solid form.
Step 3: Add the Stems In the Jar
Before you deal with the melted wax, place 4-5 stems around the inside of the mason jar. Use a spoon to get a bit of wax and pour a little bit on the base of the stems to hold it in place.
If you have extra dried petals, you can also add some of them at the bottom of your candle mold.

Step 4: Place the Wick In
Using a chopstick, wrap the end of the candle wick, long enough for the base to reach the bottom of the jar. Dip the metal base into the melted wax before you position it in the middle of the container.
Step 5: Melt the Rest Of the Wax
Following the instructions in the first step, melt the rest of the wax to be used for the candle.
Step 6: Add in the Essential Oil

As soon as the candle wax is melted, add 4-5 drops of the lavender essential oil into the broiler. Stir completely after.
Step 7: Pour the Melted Wax Into the Jar
Carefully pour the wax into the candle mold and make sure that the wicks of the lavender candles are still in place. Since the wax is really hot, you can wear some cooking gloves for protection.
Let it cool completely. It will take around 10-15 minutes or more to completely cool. Trim the excess wick after.
Tip: Put the jars on top of some newspapers to avoid getting the wax everywhere. Do not throw the excess wax down the drain to prevent clogging.
For the finishing touches, take the twine and tie a ribbon around the candle. You can add a small stem in the knot to complete the look.
