As the whole world knows everything is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic these days. As responsible citizens we are all social distancing and staying home. But being stuck at home due to a pandemic makes many people even more stressed than usual. Just when we need to relieve all this stress all the spas are closed. But you can turn your home into your own private spa with very simple ingredients from your kitchen!
Simple ingredients from the pantry can be used for hair care, skincare, and face care! And the best part of it all is that you know these remedies for your precious skin and hair are all-natural.
1. Homemade Recipes for Hair
For your hair, you can use:
- honey,
- olive oil,
- egg yolk (save the egg white for later)
- melted coconut oil.
These ingredients will help you revive your hair. You don’t have to use these ingredients all at once. You can use different ingredients like bananas and avocado paste mixed together is a great hair mask. These ingredients, which are very rich with antioxidants, omega-3-fatty-acids, and vitamins, are perfect for hair care.
Use your creativity and what you have in your kitchen to mix your preference of ingredients. You can also choose the density of your hair mask. When you have your mixture ready, brush your hair, and then apply the mixture all the way up to your scalp.
You can use a full hairbrush or your fingers to apply the mixture while gently massaging. After applying the hair mask, put your hair up with a hair clip, or if you have short hair, you can just leave it and put a small towel on your shoulders. After waiting for a minimum of 30 minutes, you can finish your hair care by washing normally.
If you have oily hair, you can try mixing baking soda with vinegar. Baking soda balances the PH level of your hair and will reduce the oiliness of your hair.
Ingredients for hair mask;
- 4 tbsp baking soda
- 120ml of vinegar (half of a water glass)
Slowly add the vinegar into the baking soda while mixing at the same time and keep mixing until it becomes pasty. Once you get the needed density from your mixture, apply it to your scalp, massaging gently, and normally wash after 15 minutes.
You can repeat this once a week for better results for oily hair.
2. Homemade Recipes For Face
For your face, you can use some of the ingredients you have applied for your hair. Nutrients and oil acids will moisturize and brighten your face.
Wash your face before applying your preference of mixture, and you can use baking soda and lukewarm water to cleanse your face, then apply the mixture and wait for a minimum of 15 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water and dab dry with a soft towel.
The egg white you saved while doing your hair care can be used to tighten your skin and your pores if you don’t mind the unpleasant smell. You can apply the egg white all over your face and wait until it is completely dry, then rinse with lukewarm water.
You can end your facial care with a relaxing touch by using coconut oil. Olive oil will also give your face glowing moisture.
You can also try a yogurt, honey, and oatmeal mask in order to attain a bright and moisturized skin. Yogurt is a natural cleanser, and honey is a natural moisturizer. And oatmeal is perfect for easing dry and irritated skins. Oatmeal is also suitable for sensitive skin with its peeling and cleansing features.
Ingredients for this mask;
- 1 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp oatmeal
Use a blender to turn the oatmeal into powder and mix it with honey and yogurt. Your mixture should be pasty. Once you get your pasty mask ready, apply it on your face then wash it after 20 minutes.
3. Homemade Recipes For Body
Getting a proper massage without going to the spa is highly unlikely, but you can rub your body with oil to accelerate your circulation.
You can evenly mix coconut oil with coffee or olive oil with sugar and apply this mixture all over your body, preferably before showering and massage your body gently for about 20 minutes.
The oils in the mixture will moisturize your skin. At the same time, sugar and coffee will exfoliate your body and help accelerate the circulation, trigger cell regeneration, and prevent pores from clogging.
You can also try a homemade peeling, with just one tomato!
Ingredients;
- 1 tomato,
- 1 tbsp sugar
Use a blender to get a paste of the tomato and then mix it with sugar. Apply all over the body while massaging gently and wait until it’s dry. Then you can wash it away, and this peeling will clean your skin of dead cells and give you a natural glow.
