How to Make DIY Baby Wipes | Homemade Baby Products

Babies naturally have smooth, delicate skin, which can easily get irritated by the wrong products. While it’s convenient to go for store-bought baby wipes, they often contain a lot of artificial ingredients. Thus, a better alternative is to create your own DIY baby wipes so you’re sure that there are no toxic ingredients in the mix. When it comes to your baby, it’s better to be safe than sorry! Be in control of what goes on your baby’s skin with this DIY baby wipes recipe.

What you’ll need:

  • Airtight Container
  • Paper Towels
  • Measuring Cup and Spoons
  • Serrated Knife
  • Organic Coconut Oil
  • Liquid Castile Soap
  • Essential Oil (optional)

essential oil

Step 1: Measure Ingredients

Measure 2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil and 2-2 ½ tablespoons of liquid castile soap. Set aside. Cut your paper towel in half. Be sure to use thick paper towels to keep your wipes from dissolving.

Step 2: Prepare Paper Towel

Remove the core of the paper towel. From the center, tug on the inside until the paper towel unravels a bit. Simply tug on it until it becomes loose enough to be easily removed. Make sure that a bit of it is sticking out from the center for easier pulls. Place the paper towel in the container.

Step 3: Create Solution

Boil 3 cups of water in a pan. This removes germs from the water so it’s safe for use. Add the organic coconut oil and liquid castile soap to the boiling water. You can also add around 6 drops of essential oil to create your favorite scent. Stir until the mixture becomes cloudy white.

Step 4: Add Solution

Once the solution has cooled, pour it into the container. For easier pouring, you can use a measuring cup. Pour enough solution to soak through the entire roll of paper towel. In case there’s excess solution, you can pour it out to prevent your wipes from dissolving.
